Vacation Care program July Holidays 2022 (5th July / 18th July)

Dear parent(s)/caregiver(s),

Please find here our Vacation Care Program and booking form for the upcoming holidays in July 2022.

We will be running the program from Monday 4th July till Monday 18th July. The last Monday will be a Pupil Free -day.

We have a new system in place for your bookings!

WE WILL BE OPEN FOR BOOKINGS FOR VACATION CARE ON WEDNESDAY 1ST JUNE AT 7.00 AM.

THIS TIME WE WILL ONLY TAKE BOOKINGS BY E-MAIL AND THE BOOKING WILL BE TAKEN ON A FIRST IN, FIRST SERVED BASIS. E-mail: Avocaschoolcare@gmail.com

Please use the booking form attached and send this back to us.

(Click on booking form; ‘’open with’’ Google documents. Write down the days you are interested in; File; download – save as PDF. Send this PDF back to us / or print, fill in, scan and send back / or there will be a hard copy available at the Service)

You will receive a confirmation from your bookings.

Once you have booked, we can’t cancel your booking anymore and we have to mark your child as absent and you will pay for the day. Please make sure you are booking the correct days to avoid disappointment. We will be working with a waitlist if days are full but you have to realize that we can only confirm your spot last-minute.

Because of the voucher program (https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/basc-voucher) we have an influx in the number of children at our Service and unfortunately, it’s not as easy to attract new educators to work in the Childcare Sector at the moment.

Due to this situation and the fact that we really want to make vacation care a lovely experience for every child attending, we will have to cap the days to 30 or 40 children, depending on the activity for the day.

We also had to increase our Vacation care fees accordingly, for the time being. We really love that the vouchers are helping out the parents with their childcare costs, but the use of the vouchers are not giving the Service any benefit at all. It takes us an extra day/week to get the administration ready for the Government each week and we are not getting any compensation for that. If a voucher doesn’t get used up, we will have to repay the Government.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and we are looking forward to receiving your e-mails.

Thank you,

Kind regards,

 Jennefer Cleeren

Covid19 exposure and temporary closure of our Service

03/03/2022

Dear parent(s)/caregiver(s),

This afternoon, our Service has been advised that a staff member of our service has tested positive to Covid-19.

All children who have attended our service this week up until this morning, will have been in contact with her. This educator is working every morning and every afternoon at our Service.

While testing and isolation is no longer mandatory for exposure in school settings, NSW Health has provided advice on testing and isolation recommendations that should be considered when making decisions for your child and family.

If symptoms occur at any time, your child should undertake a rapid antigen test.

The safety and wellbeing of our staff and children are paramount at all times.

We will be open this afternoon and tomorrow, while maintaining the ratios. You will understand that we are not taking any more bookings for tomorrow.

For safety of our children and educators OUR CENTRE WILL BE CLOSED FROM MONDAY 7/3 TO THURSDAY 10/3 as we won’t be able to maintain the ratio’s set by the Government on those days.

Friday 11/3 we will be open again.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this will cause to everyone...

 Thank you,

 Julee Dean

I also want to make you aware that we are an approved Service for the BASC Vouchers. This voucher is available in your Service NSW app and will assist you in paying the school care fees, for up to $500 a child. We are accepting the vouchers from now on. Please email us your voucher and put ''BASC VOUCHER" as subject. This voucher won't cover the outstanding balance, but it will pay for your costs from the moment of redemption till the $500 has been used. Don't let the vouchers go to waste and email them to us as soon as possible.

Information regarding your BASC Voucher

Hello parent(s) and caregiver(s),

We are aware that from yesterday onwards parents have been given the opportunity to use up a $500 voucher per child for before-, after- and vacation care.

As easy as it is for the parents to redeem those vouchers, it’s a bit more complicated and time-consuming for us to keep the administration for this.

We encourage all the parents from the children that are already enrolled at our Service to redeem the vouchers and use up the $500, but we are certainly NOT taking any new enrolments only for the sake of using up the voucher (that includes all our upcoming vacation care programs).

You can use the voucher for your regular attendances but we are not able to accommodate extra bookings on top of this just to use up the voucher. We just don’t have enough staff to comply with the ratio’s if we have a sudden influx in the number of children.

We are short staffed as it is and we simply can’t take any more administration or children on board at the moment. Covid has already put an enormous amount of stress on our daily activities and we are still feeling the effects from that.

We are currently watching instructions on how to apply the vouchers at our Centre and which requirements we have to follow. You are more than welcome to email your vouchers to us (please put ‘’BASC VOUCHER” as subject) and we will start redeeming them from the moment we are ready.

Thank you for your understanding and patience while we are going through this process.

Kind regards,

Julee Dean
