At Avoca School care we provide a friendly, caring and exciting environment that allows children to explore their environment freely and develop skills needed in every day life.
We respect children as individuals and program experiences and activities that cater for their interests and developments. We also foster their self esteem and confidence through these activities and experiences.
WE aim to provide age-appropriate care for the children in our care. We try to meet children's needs by providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where they can experience a feeling of belonging and develop quality relationships among care-providers and peers.
In our new building at Copacabana Public School we have enough space to entertain all the children with a quiet corner, activity and craft tables, television-corner and a brand-new, spacious kitchen to provide the children their breakfast and afternoon-tea.
Avoca School care Statement of
Philosophy.
We
acknowledge the Darkinjung people past and present on those land we live and
enjoy today. We will cherish and nurture our young with knowledge and wisdom
through life’s future pathways.
Avoca beach
before and after school care aims to provide a child orientated environment
with the focus on play and learning.
Where all children
feel valued and supported, where diversity and inclusion are embraced.
We strive to
have a professional and supportive team that works in partnership with
families, the community and shareholders.
Our program
provides a stimulating environment which fosters all children’s natural curiosity
and thirst for knowledge. We believe it
is essential to provide a range of opportunities where children can develop
life skills in a safe, nurturing setting.
We will
recognise and value all families and children by implementing programs that
reflect our unique cultures to meet the children’s social, emotional and physical
needs for both planned and flexible programs whilst ensuring a safe,
emotionally secure cross cultural setting where children are able to explore
and experiment with a variety of materials and experiences in a supportive
atmosphere which promotes physical, educational, emotional, social and
intellectual growth.
We the service take an active role in caring
for the environment thru exploration and promote independence through play in a
natural environment.
We will guide all children to develop
knowledge of sustainability in our world with practices such as healthy eating,
gardening, minimising waste, recycling and reducing water and energy
consumption.
We the educators
will assist all children in developing an understanding and respect for the
environment and encourage critical thinking.
We are on Facebook as well. If you want up-to-date information about our Centre please become friends with us on facebook (Julee Dean, a picture of the Sun is our profile picture).
